
My name is Kate. I'm 18 years old, and I'm studying to be a chef at one of the tiny but very hothouse culinary colleges in Poland. I grew up outside Warsaw, in a small town near a lake, where the smell of dill and freshly cut grass is in the air more often than rain. My mom is a music teacher, my dad is a mechanic. They always said that the main thing in life is to work, study and not forget to dream. I listened to them and dreamed of big portions: not just cooking, but creating dishes that make people smile and think.
